Here's your chance to customise your copy of Internet Explorer! This
little trick will replace the spinning IE logo and naff swirly background
on the Toolbar with my own Horrible.Demon logos like this-

Here's all you have to do!
How does it work?
All you need is a BitMap file which contains the animation you require. You then
need to change a setting in the Registry to tell Internet Explorer where to find
your BitMap. Open the "alien_head.reg" file in Notepad and you will see
that the file should be saved in "C:\Windows\" by default. If you save the
BitMap file into another directory, or wish to change the name of the file, then
this is the line you need to edit. Don't worry- full instructions are in the file!
How can I make my own?
Simply create your own BitMap file. It needs to be 38x418 pixels for the large
logo or 22x682 for the small logo, each made up of frames of animation; 38x22
for the large (total of 11 images), 22x22 (total of 31 images) for the small.
Feel free to load one of the BitMap files in the Zip and use it as a guide.
Save your file as a 256 colour BitMap, then use either the RegEdit program (if you have it) or edit the "alien_head.reg" file to set the Registry to your BitMap file. Full instructions on what you need to do are in the "alien_head.reg" file.
The background toolbar can be any size, but stick to something quite small to save memory space and so it tiles properly. The default background colour is RGB 192,192,192 (#C0C0C0) so try and use that.
Update
I've just added a new .reg file to the Zip to remove all the Alien Head logos
if you decide you don't like them. This file will also remove any branding of
your IE logos, eg. AOL.
