What is UKRM??
UKRM is the acronym for uk.rec.motorcycles, a usenet newsgroup which is dedicated to motorcycling in the UK. You can visit the homepage for more information.

What is BOTAFOF??
BOTAFOF is the acronym for Bikers Of The A414, which is a group of bikers from UKRM that live around the Essex/Herts area and meet up occasionally at the weekends to go out for a blat. We all thought it was too far for us to go on the UKRM BOTAFOT (Bikers Of The A413) runs held around Aylesbury, so we started our own rival group!

Where do you ride??
There is no set route (unlike the BOTAFOT) as we usually decide where we will be going on the day. It's usually up to those that turn up to set the route and suggest where to go. We do have some favourite roads, but we all like a change now and then!

I've also noted a couple of routes around the Chelmsford area you might like to try.

We usually end up at High Beach (see map) for a look around the bikes in the car-park, then head to the pub just up the road for bacon butties and coffee.

The car-park is marked (with picnic site) in the centre square on the map above. The pub is marked (PH) above the name "High Beach" on the map. Simply turn left out of the car-park and take the first road on your right. The pub is about 500 yards up the road, over the speed bumps.

When/Where do you meet??
We usually meet at the Esso garage on the eastbound section of the A120 towards Colchester, about 300 yards from the entrance to Stanstead Airport. This is also Junction 8 of the M11, so it's fairly easy to get to. Meeting times can vary, but 10.30am on a sunday is always a good bet to try and avoid traffic as much as possible. Have a look at this map for the exact location.

How do I get a BOTAFOF number??
Simple - to get your own BOTAFOF number, just turn up at a meeting and come with us. Newbies always buy the coffee though...
