| Modifications |
My RVF has been derestricted by fitting an M-Max power box which bypasses the advance/retard limiter, a Sansei aluminium (race) exhaust and the bike has also been re-jetted to cope with the extra fuel requirements of these modifications. The bike hasn't been dyno-tested, but it does go off the clocks (past an indicated 200kph) and round underneath the "K/P/H" marker at an estimated 145mph! This, of course, is on a testing track :-)
I've just had a pair of Bridgestone Battlax BT-010 tyres fitted which are the replacement for the BT56 tyres. These have been superb so far and feel much more grippy than the BT56s I had on the bike previously.

The bike is now stored inside the house while we go off snowboarding in France for two weeks
as it's far more secure. I hope it doesn't leak or drip oil onto the carpet! See the pictures

It's been all go this week, as lots of parts I've had on order all turn up at once.
The carbon-fibre yoke protector (from Busters)
turned up, but didn't have a hole for the Honda logo to show through, so I modified it by
cutting out the right shape for the logo to show through.
Secondly, I've repacked the end-can because when I took it off to give it a good polish, I noticed that a couple of rivets were missing, so I decided to pull it all apart! The can came apart easy enough after drilling out all the rivets, but it was quite a mess inside. I removed the burnt/coked up wadding (approx. half in thickness) and put it all back together. My new rivet gun (Stanley, £14.99 from B&Q) did a sterling job with 4mm rivets and it looks better than it was before. The sound is nothing short of awesome - not too loud but much, much deeper lower down.
Finally my single-seat unit turned up from Pyramid Plastics after waiting for a month, although they did tell me this when I ordered. It was £49.62 in total, but doesn't come with the mounts so I'll take the ones off the seat for now until I can find a scrap seat to get the bits from. It's made of fibreglass and came with a black finish, so I've painted it white and bought some matt-black vinyl sticky sheet that matches the seat unit from the local sign makers, which only cost me a couple of quid for a metre square!

Just back from a fantastic track-day at Snetterton, courtesy of 100% Bikes.
Excellent fun throwing the little RVF rounds the corners, even if I didn't manage to keep up with the
bigger bikes down the straights! Plenty of knee-down action round nearly all the corners and lots
of tyre blistering due to the very hot weather on the day. Top stuff, can't wait to do it again.
See the pics below (more to follow) - I look quite professional!
02/12/01 Updated!
The RVF is now For Sale if you want the chance to own this machine. I've also just managed
to get hold of an ART Carbon exhaust for it as well, so you now get the choice of two end-cans
if you buy it - the Sansei Aluminium and the ART Carbon.
